Koninklijke Eduard van Leer (KEVL), founded in 1883 and honored with the Royal Predicate in the Netherlands, is an internationally operating trading and distribution company with a proud heritage of more than 140 years.
From our Amsterdam headquarters, we connect producers and customers worldwide across the markets for Softwood, SWM Thermowood®, Plywood, Pulp, Paper & Board, and Woodpellets for renewable energy.

Timber Products
We supply premium softwood from leading producers in Scandinavia, Finland, Canada, South America and the Baltics. All timber comes from responsibly managed forests, ensuring both reliability and sustainability. Our team supports wholesalers, retailers, and industrial users with a versatile range including Spruce, Pine, Douglas and CLS dimension lumber.
Plywood
We supply premium Radiata Pine plantation plywood from Chile under the CMPC Selex® brand. Produced from certified forests and registered in the Dutch National Environmental Database, CMPC plywood meets the highest European construction standards. Available in a wide range of thicknesses, they combine quality and reliability in an environmentally responsible product.
Pulp
With decades of experience in global pulp markets, we connect buyers and sellers worldwide. Our sourcing includes Softwood Kraft Pulp, CTMP, Cotton Linters, and Specialty non wood fibres, all supplied with a focus on quality, sustainability and customer specific requirements.
Paper & Board
We offer a broad portfolio of paper and board grades for packaging, printing, and specialty applications. From recycled to virgin fibre, our supplied products are tailored to meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s expectations. Our experienced team ensures smooth sourcing, sales, and logistics across Europe.
Renewable Energy
Since 1999, trading as Van Leer Energy, we have been active in renewable energy, supplying refined solid biofuels such as wood pellets. By sourcing globally and managing logistics end to end, we ensure secure, sustainable, and on spec deliveries that support the transition to cleaner energy.
Thermowood (SWM)
Together with our partner SWM Wood in Finland, we offer high-quality thermally modified wood products. Free from additives, this wood is naturally durable with a long lifespan. Strengthening the SWM-Wood brand, we go further by offering fully audited carbon and energy footprints - from seedling to delivery.
